Frequently asked questions.
The base prices for renting a sailboat are calculated on a weekly basis. If you rent for less than a week, a coefficient is applied: 60% of the weekly price for two days, 70% for three days, 80% for four days, 90% for five days, and 95% for six days. It’s always more advantageous to rent by the week.
Since 2025, we have simplified our pricing for a better customer experience. Our bookings include all-risk insurance (with a deductible), a spinnaker, a dinghy engine (if available on the boat), a berth in Saint-Quay for the duration of your rental, and an overnight stay on board the night before your departure. Fuel will remain at your expense upon return. If desired, you can add optional extras such as onboard bedding, cleaning, or a navigation tablet (for boats not already equipped).
Yes, we apply discounts based on the duration of your rental. You’ll receive a 5% discount for 13 days or more, 7.5% for 20 days or more, and for rentals of 4 weeks or longer, please contact us directly. Discounts always apply to the base rental price and never include options such as the consumables package, cleaning, or onboard bedding.
This package covers your consumption of gas, batteries, dinghy engine fuel, and, more generally, any consumables related to your use of the boat.
French law requires vendors to have an Orias registration number to sell insurance products. Currently, Loc Voile Armor does not have one, but this may change in a future season.
Upon your arrival, the day before or on the day of your rental, you’ll meet us at the Loc Voile Armor office. Together, we’ll finalize the administrative process (nautical CV, crew list, insurance information, deposit payment), and we’ll open the access barrier to the parking lot for you. You’ll head directly to the rental dock to take possession of your sailboat at your own pace. After completing the inventory, our team will be available to ensure you have all the necessary equipment and assist you with the boat handover (electrical system, onboard electronics, water system operation, and specifics of the sailboat). At the departure time stated in your contract, you’ll be ready to set sail.
Essentially, all your personal belongings. We provide a small cleaning kit, including a mop, sponge, and microfiber cloth. However, don’t forget to bring trash bags, dish towels, shopping bags, condiments, sleeping bags, sheets, and pillows unless you choose the bedding option.
We offer this schedule to allow you to spend the night onboard the day before departure and, when possible, take over the boat as early as Friday evening, maximizing your time on the water. This also enables us to spread handovers over two days, giving us more time to assist you. To ensure the same level of service for the next renters, the boat must be returned to the dock by 2 p.m. (or 4 p.m. if you clean the boat yourself). Regardless of cleaning options, you must clean and dry the dishes, empty the trash, and clean the toilets or leave the boat as you found it.
The minimum rental period is two days, except in July and August when we only rent by the week unless it’s a last-minute booking. In that case, the minimum remains two days. During the off-season, you can rent a sailboat midweek.
We take deposits via bank imprint. To ensure everything is ready upon your arrival, follow these two steps:
- Ensure you have sufficient funds for the deposit (between €3,000 and €5,500 depending on the boat) available in your account or an authorized overdraft.
- Request a temporary increase in your payment limit from your bank, either directly through your banker or via your banking app.
The deposit will not be charged to your account unless there is an issue when returning the boat.
This is one of the key advantages of the deep-water port of Saint-Quay-Portrieux. The parking lot is free, enclosed, and allows you to park your car directly above the rental dock. Upon your arrival, our team will open the security barrier, giving you access to the parking area along the docks. You can park as many vehicles as you have crew members, free of charge. Once on board your sailboat, a parking badge will be provided to grant you autonomous access throughout your rental.
The simplest option is to place a Drive order at the Super U in Binic-Étables-sur-Mer. They can deliver directly to the dock for €10. If you have a car, Carrefour Market in Étables-sur-Mer is less than 2 km away, and Super U in Binic is 6 km away. If you need more information, feel free to let us know.
For weekly or longer rentals, the boat must be returned with a full fuel tank and in accordance with the return procedure established at the start of your rental. The return time is 2 p.m. on the last day of your rental or 4 p.m. if you clean the boat yourself. For weekend rentals, especially those ending on a Sunday, you can keep the sailboat until 6 p.m. if the cleaning is completed.
Together, we’ll check the general condition of the boat. Within the hours or days following your return, a diver will inspect the condition of the underwater parts (hull, keel, and rudder).
The deposit will be returned by mail within 30 days, provided no issues are found.
